Week
Pollution Prevention is the prevention of environmental pollution at its source
before it is created. Pollution Prevention techniques, including source reduction,
alternative products and processes, energy efficiency, water conservation, and other types
of natural resource conservation, are recognized nationally as the preferred environmental
strategy.
The main goal of our program is to share existing pollution prevention
information with the businesses we regulate. Our Innovative Technologies and
Business Assistance staff are in contact with organizations throughout
California and the nation who are working to develop alternative pollution
reducing products and processes. We can put you in touch with technical and,
in some cases, economic assistance to develop pollution reducing strategies
for your business. Often, pollution prevention solutions can save you money
through increased efficiency and reduced regulation.
