Take a Vacation from Your Car
Initiated and led by APCD, Santa Barbara Car Free
is a cooperative partnership of more than 100 local businesses, organizations,
agencies and individuals -- all committed to encouraging car free transportation
for cleaner air.
The Project is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2008, is
offering a yearlong 2008 promotion package with many partners, and
recently launched a "Take a Vacation from the Gas Pump" promotion. For more

Santa Barbara Car Free is the recipient of the 2004
Environmental Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Region 9 and
the 2004 Marketing Excellence Award for Eco-Tourism from California Travel &
Tourism Commission. APCD recognized Car Free partners for the outstanding
contributions to the project that were a factor in these awards.
